"Classical
Gas is
arguably one of the most well known
pieces
of acoustic guitar music in the world . . ."
You'll just be begging for the
next time
someone says 'Can you play
Classical Gas?' because
you'll
be able to say YES I CAN ACTUALLY.
And then
you'll play it for them!
From
the studio of Mike Herberts | Internet Guitar Teacher.
f
you've ever played
the guitar among strangers, you can almost guarantee
that one of them will ask 'can
you
play Classical Gas?'
If you've been playing for less than a couple of years then your answer
almost certainly was 'No
. . . but I
will one day'
The problem is that classical Gas looks like an intimidating piece of
music (to a relative beginner anyway) to learn.
If you've ever watched
someone playing it then you will be convinced that it is really
difficult.
Oh and if
you've ever
tried to learn it I bet you got so far and then just . . gave in . . am
I right?
Well,
you'll be pleased to know that is IS NOT THAT
DIFFICULT,
with the right approach and the right tools
Imagine a short time from now. You're playing guitar and someone says
'Can you play Classical Gas?'.
You reply 'Oh that old thing . . .' and begin, not just playing it, but playing it with real style
and
musicianship.
Well,
my guitar playing buddy/buddess,
that
time is a lot nearer than you think.
I have taken the piece and
broken it down into bite sized chunks of no more than four measures. It
took me a long time to get it right though.
The
biggest obstacle for most players
is the Big Barre Chords that have
to be played in two places.
Well
. .
. not any more.
I took out the barre chords and replaced them with standard open chords
and d'ya know what? No one will ever notice the difference.
Each section, there are ten of them in total, (this is NOT the version
you may have seen on YouTube) is shown on-screen,
in over-the-shoulder-vision and with the tabs sitting
there
right before your eyes.
You'll just be begging for the
next time
someone says 'Can you play
Classical Gas?' . . .because
you'll
be able to.
